Blame the Operator, Not the Tech!
This is not well known among us, and I don’t want to go into the details, but recent headlines about Deloitte Australia refunding part of a $440,000 report to the government due to AI-generated errors reinforce my long-held belief.
AI technology itself is not at fault, but rather the humans using it. AI is a powerful technologie, and like any others, its effectiveness hinges on proper handling.
With a solid understanding of the technology and robust verification mechanisms in place, such incidents simply wouldn’t occur. It’s all about responsible deployment.
As I’ve emphasised time and again, AI adoption follows a classic J-curve not a /-curve (line). You need to invest upfront in terms of time, resources and expertise to navigate the initial dips and unlock exponential gains further down the line. Failing to make that investment invites setbacks that erode trust in AI.
This is where consulting can really make a difference in AI implementation. Building that essential know-how is the foundation of success. We have done this countless times, from training internal teams to crafting bespoke frameworks that minimise risks and maximise value. It’s the foundation for a thriving AI future in businesses and organisations.
